Winners Announced!

Thanks to all who entered my giveaways, as you know, if it weren't for you I'd just be writing into the void. It's you who make the difference. That's why I wish I could reward you all, but as it is... only two lucky winners. BUT if you notice, I'm only 3 followers away from 300, and when that day is reached... there will be rewards a plenty. I really should start thinking about something awesome and fun now, like bookmarks and stickers and, of course, books!

Well, enough prattleing for today... the winner of (O)Mega Giveaway (aka the $25 giftcard to Amazon) is: donnas! Who is very much looking forward to Supernaturally, the followup book to Paranormalcy. Congrats donna!

The winner of the Jane in June limited Edition giclee is: Aia, who is a Colin Firth fan, and while we do love us some Matthew MacFadyen, it seems we are all lost to Colin, except vvb32 reads, which means more Matthew for you!

Winners Announced!

So, I have randomed and generated it up, and we have winners! Lots and lots of winners! There were lots and lots of prizes afterall! 8 prizes I have, and 8 winners there are. So, this will be a little unconventional for the first 4 winners, because they get to pick what they want, but I will update this post with what they choose. I know, you're thinking enough about me, did I win!?! So to the winners...

1st place: Sara from YA Vampire Books who chose The Spellman Files, Signed 1st Edition
2nd place: Beleth who chose Curse of the Spellmans, Signed 1st Edition, which was her first choice!
3rd place: Spav who chose The Spellmans Strike Again, Signed 1st Edition with Free Schmidt T, her first choice as well!
4th place: Liz wins Revenge of the Spellmans, Signed 1st Edition!

For 5th-8th, you'll all be getting copies of the newest Spellmans book, The Spellmans Strike Again!
5th place: Jennifer G.
6th place: throuthehaze
7th place: ninefly
8th place: Misty

I hope you all love your winnings and that maybe you'll drop a line and say how you like the Spellmans once you've read them. As for detectives that already hold our hearts? Holmes, hands down, but that little Belgian came in second with the spunky Nancy Drew following quickly behind!

Winner Announced!

Thank you to everyone who entered to win the lovely Theodosia and the Eyes of Horus ARC by R. L. LaFevers. As for mummies being cursed... it appears we are evenly split between those who do and those who don't believe. Though it is interesting that most who don't believe said that you never know... so wisely hedging your bets there if a mummy should come around, I fully embrace your cunning self preservationist attitudes. Now to the winner.... inthehammock! AKA Carrie!

Also, just because "Desert Sands Month" is over, doesn't mean the explorations to Egypt should or even could stop. It is really a rather big obsession of mine, I'm too fascinated to ever give it up. But Elizabeth Peters and R. L. LaFevers, while my current favorite authors also enamoured of the land of the pahroahs, there are many authors to come before and many authors that will come after. From Agatha Christie to Margaret George, Michelle Moran to Lawrence Durrell, Olivia Manning to Eloise Jarvis McGraw, from fiction to non, the stories are never ending and my Egyptian Shelf keeps expanding!

And as a final note, remember that this month, as in, today, the day that is the official start of "no more crap February" as I like to call it... sure there were wonderful Egyptian stories to drive away the cold, but I had a flu akin to a mummies curse that I hope will end with the briskness of March which will shortly bring little bunnies and happy flowers and wonderful SPRING! Also never forget Cadbury mini eggs, the reason Easter was created. But besides the choclatey goodness, there is also a giveaway that will be my biggest yet. There are multiple prizes, at least four winners, and as for the books... some of my favorite of all time and total amazing. So come back and see what you can win, if you weren't lucky enough this time around.

Winner Announced!

Well, I hope all you lovely people won't be seeing shades of red when the winner is announced for Shades of Grey. I hope you'll all join me in wishing the randomly generated individual joy and happiness with their new book. Also... as you well know, there is always a new giveaway right around the corner (that would be tomorrow AND Wednesday, yes, there are two new giveaways on the horizon)! New authors and new places to visit! Books are so wonderful, and with Fforde, you get books within books, for that much more bookishness! So lets go into the world of Jasper Fforde. Thursday Next kind of kicked everyones proverbial asses in the favorite character category. But props have to be given to Jack Spratt and Miss Havisham, with a special plock reserved just for Pickwick, plus, we must not forget the funniest character name ever, Jack Schitt, whose brother is Schitt Haus. Now on to the winner! They might be going to East Carmine and not Swindon, but whichwaydidshego is sure to enjoy the journey! That's right Michelle, you won! I don't think I know a more Ffordian crazy person out there (that's a complement by the way).

Also, I have to say I received a lovely bribe for this competition, resulting in a few extra entries for said person... aren't they adorable! Cure pictures of fluffy kittens are ALWAYS the way to go!

Now this little one, very cute, but I'm sorry, the tuxedo kitty wins for sheer adorableness!

A Ghostly Giveaway!

I'd like to thank Mike Norman once again for stopping by for all hallows week and offering up a great prize for one of my wonderful followers. If you haven't yet be sure to check out his website and all his great books for a truly spooky time. But now onto the part I know you're all waiting for, you're just like wolves at the gates...so anyways, the winner of the signed and inscribed copy of Michael Norman's new book, The Nearly Departed is...princess...DarcyO! Congratulations Darcy, and I hope you are ready to lock the doors and turn on all the lights as you read about the supernatural forces at work in Minnesota!

Thank you all for entering and don't forget that as always, the next giveaway will be just as good if not better! It's a Miss Eliza guarantee! I should have a Strange & Random Happenstance seal of approval for just such occasions. A nice crest or seal...something neat and impressive but overall truly unique and me. Anyways, very shortly I will be offering up to my readers The Betrayal of the Blood Lily, Lauren Willig's new ARC, which won't be out till January, you know you want to read it earlier than everyone else! I'm also thinking of rewarding current followers a little more for each competition...I also went to my local library's book sale today and I found some amazing gems! Truly wonderful books, some of them brand new, and quite a few earmarked just for you, my lucky lucky readers. I almost feel a Kylie Minogue song coming on....
