Going Gothic

So I decided to switch things up a bit this year by actually doing my Gothic inspired reviews at the time of year most people associate with the Gothic, Halloween! Of course I like reading it year round, from the depths of winter to the high temps of summer to the crisp breezes of fall, Gothic literature is like my comfort blanket. And if there's one thing everyone has needed this past year it is to curl up under a blanket and pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist. Even for just a few pages at a time. So as I was moving last fall I was grabbing any book that looked the least bit eerie and kept it from being put in storage, otherwise known as the wall of boxes behind me because I SO don't have enough bookshelf space now. Some of these books turned out to be wonderfully spooky, and some... well, some did not. But that's why I'm here, to warn you of books that appear Gothic but aren't. Or books that appear that they couldn't possibly be Gothic but are! Because I have been let down and surprised so you don't have to be. So here we go! Are you ready to be spooked?
